Bartlett Pediments

In 1916, Paul Wayland Bartlett sculpted “Apotheosis of Democracy” to adorn the United States Capitol House of Representatives portico’s east front in Washington, DC. The pediment’s center focal point is the figure of allegorical Peace. To the proper left of Peace are figures representing Agriculture and to the proper right is Industry. Direct Dimensions utilized structured light scanning and laser scanning to capture the plaster cast replica of the figures located inside the Capitol. The final delivery was a high-resolution mesh for pre and post conservation comparison as well as a historical archive.
