Direct Dimensions was recently asked by a firm to help document nine historic buildings on a farm next to new construction. By adding high-resolution ground-based and drone photography to our scanning efforts, we were able to deliver not only our standard 3D existing conditions Revit models, but other tools as well. We were able to provide the architects detailed color orthogonal imagery for them to use to annotate condition assessment and map out their conservation plan for the site. DDI also provided web-enabled 3D color models of all the buildings for the client to use in presentations and meetings. The combination of high accuracy scanning and high dynamic range photography made for a powerful tool in historic documentation on this project.
